The castle of Saint George that had been capital of the island as well as the castle of Assos will introduce you to the Venetian Kefalonia. It is a flashback to history that unfortunately cannot be provided by many human constructions as very few of them have been saved after the earthquakes. Therefore few of the architectural monuments that have been saved carry memories and typical images of the pre-seismic Kefalonia.

There are two very important museums in Argostoli; The Archeological Museum as well as the Historical-Folklore Museum. Those are two of the sights that worth your visit.
